Sedum is evergreen perennial forming an attractive carpet of tidy little rosettes of thick and succulent, chalky white to silvery-grey to blue-green leaves, tinged with purple during the winter. Sedum spathulifolium is a great choice for rock gardens, rock walls, or alpine troughs, and can be used in carpet bedding schemes. Ensure good drainage, and trim back after flowering to maintain shape if necessary. Avoid spots in the garden likely to become waterlogged or poorly-drained during the cooler months.
